Case Study: Grid-Smart Energy – 100kW / 241kWh Air-Cooled BESS for a Logistics Center in Denmark
Leading the Nordic Energy Transition
Denmark is a global leader in renewable energy integration, aiming for a 100% fossil-free electricity system. Suness Power is proud to support this vision with our latest deployment: a 100kW / 241kWh Air-Cooled Outdoor BESS in a strategic logistics hub in Denmark.
This system is engineered for professional-grade energy management, featuring a dual-Solis inverter configuration and a sophisticated Multi-Level Control Architecture. Fully compliant with Danish grid regulations, this project showcases our ability to meet the most stringent technical requirements in the European market.
Technical Configuration: Precision & Compliance
This outdoor cabinet is designed as a "Smart Power Node," combining high-capacity storage with advanced monitoring.

Strategic Project Highlights
1. Danish Grid Compliance: The "Positive List" Advantage
In Denmark, grid connection is only possible for equipment that meets rigorous standards. The Solis 100kW inverters used in this project are officially Listed on the Danish Positive List, ensuring a seamless and fast-tracked approval process with local DSOs (Distribution System Operators) and complying with Energinet technical regulations.
2. Sophisticated Control: BMU, BCU, and Integrated EMS
Safety and precision are managed through a Two-Level Control Logic:
BMU (Battery Management Unit): Monitors cell-level voltage and temperature for every 314Ah module.
BCU (Battery Control Unit): Acts as the master controller, managing the series string and communicating with the inverters.
Smart EMS: The built-in Energy Management System optimizes the entire system. It monitors real-time site load and grid signals to balance consumption, storage, and export.
3. Optimized Air-Cooling for the Nordic Climate
Specifically designed for Denmark’s temperate climate, our Air-Cooled Cabinet provides a cost-effective and highly reliable thermal solution. The system’s intelligent fans adjust their speed based on BCU data, ensuring the 314Ah cells remain within their optimal operating window while minimizing the system’s own energy footprint.
Danish Market Context: Turning Storage into Revenue
Participation in Auxiliary Services: With its fast response time and 100kW output, this system is capable of participating in FCR (Frequency Containment Reserve) markets, allowing the owner to earn revenue by helping Energinet stabilize the grid frequency.
Avoiding High Tariffs: Denmark has dynamic electricity pricing. The EMS automatically charges the 241kWh battery during off-peak hours (high wind production) and discharges during the high-tariff evening peak, providing an aggressive ROI for industrial users.
0% VAT & Sustainability Goals: Supporting Denmark's climate law, this project enables the client to significantly reduce their Scope 2 emissions.
